Used E-Bike values, is the situation reversed from 2021? Buyers market?

The deal is you aren't selling a RAD bike. If you were, just like you saw earlier, it would be gone.

You cannot compare the resale value or ease of sale for a RAD to anything else that I'm aware of. The reputation and brand recognizability among the rookie buyers simply cannot be compared to anything else.

You might do well to cut your asking price to something like half of what the bike cost new, or plan on sitting on it for a while hoping the right seller comes along.

PNW is Rad territory , so even though they are nominally “mail order” they are the home team. That said there are 20 for sale for as low as $400 right now.

Last year there might have been 2 at this time.

You are not wrong about the price on the Evelo I think that’s what it is going to be at some point. As is it’s my friends I want to do right by his family and not give it away.

@AHicks, I wish you were in the neighborhood today. I bet you would love riding that chopper bike to the beer garden on a sunny 75 degree day.

I absolutely love some of your designs, and the super clean conversion installs. Fact is though, I'm more of an over the counter type, and I've already learned my lesson once on the fat tires. Even a dog only needs to burn it's nose once......

If one of my bikes turns up missing, they're easily duplicated. If I had a custom custom, I'd be crushed, as all the time I had wrapped up in it would be lost forever. I've been that route with other toys (Radio Controlled planes for instance), and love to tinker doing that kind of thing making yours the only one like it.....

My poor friend is into RC airplanes. His heart breaks every time one crashes. The fat thing is not my thing but it was fun riding today for the novelty. And it did turn some heads. Thank you for appreciating some of my designs. You know about Bafangs. On the black chopper I cheated. Do you see the brace that says SIKK behind the headtube? I hid all the connectors in there. I also made hangers to run under the top tube to avoid zip ties going around it. After riding the fat bike I jumped on a torque sensor bike with gravel tires for an hour. So much better. Fat tires were cool for three months four years ago. Maybe I should surprise the owner by doing it with that rainbow wrap?

Been flying for a LOOOONG time (50+ years), so I still crash, but not nearly as often as I did the first 10-20 years! 😁

That bike will be perfect for someone. I will not post a link but I just had fun watching drone crashes on YouTube. That was fun. It is trees, water, structures, and sod. Mostly trees. Here a guy takes down a spy drone.
The actual crash has been removed from the internet. It was spectacular.

I may get a 1/4 of my investment if I am lucky, sometimes I want them gone, out of mind.

Yup, if you feel like messing with it, just come get it out of my shop....

I just sold my Himiway cruiser today. Bought if for 1000 last year used but with 0 miles and a few scratches from a drop and sold it today for 1200, with about 120 miles on it with a few extras I added on. Two responses, both offered 1000 sight unseen but I held out for my asking price and got it. Ad was up about a week or less. It was one of the cheapest on the local CL as well, even at that price.

For me, it just didnt work out. Too big, too heavy and took up too much space in the garage between my two other bikes. Fun to ride but just didnt get used. If we had easier access to some greenways then maybe it would have been different, but if I'm going to be out on the road with traffic, I'll take something with a gas motor.

The cancer survivor took delivery of his fat bike cruiser today. At two minutes into our one hour test ride in the hills I saw him wipe away a bunch of tears from under his Ray Bans, he was so happy. That makes me happy. I pretended that I did not notice the tears. I agree that Himiways are way too heavy, slow off the line and can't do sustained headwinds or climbs. When I have a good electric mid-drive I don't want or need stinky gas. Three years ago I raced a Harley and won. It was Easter Sunday. He laughed at my bike and asked if I wanted to race. I said, Yes. And beat him to the next light and the next two after that. With electric you don't need revs to tap off the line torque. Who wants to show their support for Putin and the Saudi Royal Family by causing more climate change? That guy wants me to now make a bike for his wife. Good job on the Himiway sale! Those have photographic appeal. Here is a Himiway that died from a 12 mile ride into a 20 mph headwind.

Impractical, not very versatile, it doesn't matter if it's sporty, what matters is extraordinaire, eye-catching and suits your personality... that's the ideal bike to buy, am I right?
I've met a lot of fans of this style. If you are interested in talking to them, feel free chat about it.

Can't say that logic would suit everyone, but I'm sure there will be some.

A practical commuter can also be elegant with style. The owner of the green bike is a public official who rides to work. If you shine your shoes to go to work, wouldn't you want to show up with a polished bike?

Are you clear coating to get that finish? Have you been doing this long enough to know how well it holds up/looks when it's a couple of years old?

Good question. I use industrial floor wax. It turns yellow and flakes off all by itself. Low maintenance. I hope I get a laugh from that Go to PublicBikes.com and look for the R18 in British Racing Green. This one is an Alfine IGH. I had a chrome one like it and sold that for more than I paid. That green bike has beautiful rims.

Been down the road regarding the commercial floor wax - with a 38' motor home. Learned another one of those hard earned lessons with that. Agree on the flaking. Potential for long term usage, let's just say it's poor, and it's very difficult to remove.

If you haven't already messed with it, clear coat in a rattle can will have similar results when working with small surfaces like these. Just make sure it's UV rated.

What I am saying is that the paint is factory from Taiwan. It holds up. It would not be legal to apply a finish like that in California. I am bad. A used car dealer sold me a car that had undisclosed body work. In two years that panel started to flake. I 'fixed' it with floor wax and sold it back to him.
