Used bike advice

Update: I went on a test ride Saturday. Wow! Most fun I've had on a bike in a long time. I took it on the route I take to work and easily cut my time in half. I then went to a large park with a good incline over the bridge that crosses the river to the park. The park has lots of bike trails. On the way back I went on the main streets since I could keep up with traffic which I normally avoid because the lights are timed for the speed limit and usually I end up waiting at every light.
I checked with the local Specialized dealer and he was very helpful and said he would be glad to check out the bike. I didn't notice any problems, but wanted a professional to check it out. The bike is very stiff, so on some of those rough streets I normally take it was jarring. It was hard to read the display because of the angle.
The current owner as it turns out only lives 3 blocks from me and bought the bike from the local LBS that is going to check out the bike. He was commuting 22 miles to work which took him an hour using the eco setting at 40%, He is upgrading to an electric motorcycle.

I'm not worried about the bike being stolen as he had his manual for the bike and was very knowledgeable about the bike, not to mention very proud of the bike and what it could do.

Having a manual and being very knowledgable and proud of a bike does not make an owner. I'd want to see the original bill of sale or at least the name of the bike shop
that the bike came from. You could at least check on the bike if the seller doesn't have the receipt. I'm not saying the bike is stolen, but I'd want to know the trail of ownership.

Why is there only one real picture of the bike and one stock photo ? Why a stock photo ? eBay allows up to 12 photos per auction. The seller could be
as honest as the day is long, just lazy, but since the deal is cash there's no PayPal Buyer protection nor eBay Buyer protection.

I didn't say it was on ebay, someone else did about a different bike. He had it listed on the local Craigs List with a photo he took himself. Also he bought the bike at the LBS where I'm having the bike checked, and he had no problems about me taking it there.
