Upgrading to hydraulic brakes

Hey all,
I have a Ride1up Core 5 and I would like to upgrade the brakes if possible and I am not sold on the hybrid caliper thing especially for the price. Are brake cutoffs universal?

Here you go guys. It's none of the above. It's a flat 2 pin JST plug.

A good bike tech isn't going to spend two hours digging into the bike like that. He'll just splice the wires from the old brakes to the new brakes and cover them with heat shrink.

The other thing you can do, if you want hydraulic brakes is to install cable activated calipers. The Catazer calipers are two bits on amazon, look snazzy, but I hear they're too cheap and leak.

Are you sure has JST plug?
That video didn't show anything.

OP already mentioned that he is not really sold on hydraulic caliper thing.
So I think he wants a real hydraulic brakes.
It's not a 1:4 or 1:5 molded harness to the handlebars. so there won't be a Higo or Julet connection.

Okay so, yeah, looks like it's directly attached to the controller.

You are right. I unwound the wrap and the wires go all the way into the frame.
I guess swapping out the calipers will have to do. I have no complaints about stopping power, I did brake tests and average distance was 14ft which is great I think. I have changed pads and still the brakes are loud.
