Two Yamaha branded ebike modification questions

Very happy 2019 CrossCore owner and just bought a new Crosscore RC with the wicked 60% off + free battery + 5 year warranty deal Yamaha is running right now.

1. Are the displays swappable? I really prefer the more robust / functional display on the 2019, and the USB plug is handy. I see that the newer Moros seem to have the same display as my 2019, so it's not discontinued.

2. Has anyone put an IGH on one of these bikes? I know the integrated hub speed sensor is a challenge... I've seen a couple of threads about people successfully swapping out the rear wheel (with the help of some machining to make the sensor fit), wondering if anyone has done this successfully with a geared hub. Ideally I'd like to eventually put a

It's been frustratingly difficult to find conclusive information online about which displays are compatible with the Crosscore RC, but there seems to be good evidence at least the fancypants Display C and will work with the PW-ST. I can't tell for sure with the other displays, like the Display B (which would be my preferred display). Aside from the additional information, my main reason for wanting a different display is being able to charge my phone directly off the bike battery. This has saved me numerous times on my Brompton Electric.

The clearest confirmation: I found the Haibike Trekking 6 uses both the PW-ST motor and the Display C. It's always possible there's some software aspect that would prevent it from working with the Crosscore RC, but it's reassuring.

Some more research:

• Per several stores online, the Display C is compatible with all units from 2019 forward. However, Yamaha's own site says from 2022 forward. I can't tell if it's because there's a new variant of the Display C. Seems the same in all instances.
• I found this manual [PDF] for some bikes with Yamaha motors. Page 2 seems to imply the PW-ST can be outfitted with either the Display A (which the Crosscore RC comes with) or the Display B.
• When I actually look up the bikes listed in that manual, I can't seem to find a PW-ST model with the Display B... On the other hand, I can see bikes with the newer PW-S2 motor which are using the Display A, which suggests the bikes at least use the same interface.
• This other Yamaha PDF suggests on the first page both the minimalist Interface X and the Display C are compatible with the PW-ST motor, although it doesn't say explicitly say so.

Unfortunately, I think one of us will have to bite the bullet to be sure!
