So, I just installed a bikeroo senior wide seat on my vado. This is requiring me to drop the post another couple inches because of its thickness. So I was not able to drop it enough. Post still has 6 or so inches left but won't go in the upright any further. Still plenty of marks on the post but just won't go any further. It is the stock post and I would think it would go in all the way if needed.

Thoughts? Ideas?

Water bottle cage screws in the way down the tube? Measure the length of the seat tube. Are there any internals in the seat tube - wires, cables, as above, screws, other?

How long is your seatpost? Usually it’s 350mm or 400mm. Sounds like you’ve got a larger (taller) frame size requiring a very low seatpost. I do as well. If there is an obstruction that cannot be cleared, maybe consider cutting the seatpost by 50mm or so. I’ve just bought a Kinekt suspension post and will eventually be trimming a good 75-100mm excess off to reduce weight.

So I checked, measured and rechecked. The upright where the seat post goes into looks like it takes a small bend at around 130mm before the longer bend. Right where the seat post stops. So in order to get the extra 15 mm I needed I cut it off the bottom. All is good. Just surprised that he post doesn't fit all the way into the tube.
