Trek Powerfly 4

I just purchased a Trek powerfly 4 , which I’ve only ridden a few times. The one thing I’ve noticed is when I start peddling you feel the motor kick in and I think great then after a few seconds it’s as if someone has put the handbrake on so to speak and the peddling gets stiffer . I can’t quite put my finger on it but I have had the error code 503 . Any idea guys

Looks like the speed sensor magnet may need adjustment
