... according to a recent article in Fortune .

“You have people who commute, you have people who want to bike up hills, and you have people who want to keep up with their spouse,” says Burke, 57, whose father, Dick, cofounded the company in 1976 in Waterloo, Wis.

Good article, maybe their investment in expanding their bricks and mortar stores to create a Trek/Electra focused dealership network is paying off

This is why I will probably upgrade to a Trek when I do. They have dealers nearby. I've taken my Rad to one and they happily fixed it.

I've owned Trek conventional bikes for over 20 years and they were my first choice in shopping out an ebike. Unfortunately, their 300# weight limit (bike + rider + cargo) forced me to look elsewhere. Another factor is a throttle. At first, I wasn't interested in a bike with that feature. Now that I have a throttled bike, I wouldn't be without one. At my age & physical condition, It's too valuable a tool to be without. If Trek upped the weight limit and offered a throttled model, I'd upgrade in a heartbeat.

DiCostanzo and Radenbaugh can duke this one out.

This industry can't ever tell the truth on its numbers. Of course Trek doesn't report in any numbers to BPSA so it can spout whatever it wants. Such a joke. Whatever Trek says divide it by 10 for here in the US.

Absolutely only anecdotal but the local Trek shop sold less than 3-4 bikes, and suddenly are selling 15-20 times that this year. I found that true at 3 different shops. I've ridden Trek eBikes, suggested friends and a niece by them and ALL are thrilled. Also thrilled by the dealerships excellent training and troubleshooting skills. Every maker, well nearly every maker, has several levels of bikes. My Trek and Electra are very well made and perform extremely well.

I talked to a local LBS , which sells Trek and he said Ebikes are their only growing segment. Selling real well.

My LBS chain of 5 stores was bought by Trek. They have a comprehensive range of bikes and accessories ,from balance bikes to 10k road racers including many very solid Ebikes. They have a big service department to back up their bikes. Looks like a winning formula to me.

(I bought my Cannondale at a Trek store. They were very helpful and set up several bikes for me to test ride. Having local support that's halfway decent (or better) is nice.
On the subject of sales, that's always interesting...... Too much bad intel in the world/on the 'net. It can be tough to know the truth.......

Just glad to see that ebike sales in the US are on the rise.

Although I rarely see them on bike paths. Since June, I have noted three e-fatbikes (easy to spot), an Aventon 500, and two Pedego's (husband/wife duo).

Small city Trek dealer here appears to be doing well. The last Trek I saw was very attractively designed and pulling a Burley trailer. A Super Commuter +7. I struggle with the added cost of slick design, but it is a sweet bike for those wanting great quality and support. The LBS here is top tier.

After the morning ride I dropped off my R+M at the local Trek shop to get a new 19 tooth front cog installed and a new rear cluster. I was tired from a 100k ride so I asked them for a loaner and they gave me this sweet little Super Commuter +7. I am looking forward to putting it to the test tomorrow. My bike has the performance CX and this one has the regular performance so it will be interesting to compare it on the hills of my favorite routes. I like it already for its smooth nimble handling. I like the bright headlight and solid metal fenders. I will try loading up the rack to see how practical it is .
