Trek Allant+ 8S Review?

Hello - I'm looking for a review from Court on the Trek Allant+ 8S? Trying to decide between the Specialized Vado 4.0 and the Trek Allant+ 8S. I can't find any reviews here on the Trek Allant+ 8S - however I see lots of people asking. The price difference between the two is about $700 (Specialized Vado 4.0 = ~$3500, Trek Allant+ 8S = ~ $4200). I would love to hear from Court regarding the Trek Allant+ 8S.

I have had the Allant 8S+ for about a year and other than a few issues that were caused by my LBS I have loved this bike in every season here in NYC . I commute about 22 miles a day and have found the bike to be nibble and fast. The Bocsh motor makes a little noise but that fades into the background of the ride. The riding position is comfortable enough for 20 mile rides and and forward enough to feel sporty. The bad: Fast speeds, pothole NYC streets and NO suspension makes for a very bumpy ride (I fixed this issue with suspension seat post and stem). if your have to carry this bike you better be strong cause it heavy.....other than these 2 things I love the bike enough to have bought my wife the 7S+

There has been losts of discussion and member reviews on all three Allant versions with plenty of photos and back and forth commentary. Use the search function at the upper right of each page. It will open up lots of things you find of interest and informative. Not a review by Court, they don't happen by reader request. However lots of valuable info. I ride an Allant+ 9.9s and absolutely love it. Use the search and learn why and what issues I have had, how they have been addressed, etc.

There's also the Giant Fastroad E+ EX. Very similar.
