Touring with a Synapse Neo

I'm a veteran bicycle tourist and new owner of a Synapse Neo SE. I've very interested in e-touring, and I've read where a few of you have tried it on a Synapse Neo.

1. I've used lowrider front panniers since the 80's, which is not an option. How does the bike handle with the rear weight bias?
2. I worry a little about a touring load on 28-spoke wheels. Any wheel problems? BTW I'm 130 pounds and carry 35-40 pounds of camping gear, so I'm probably OK.
3. Were you able to ride mostly in Eco?

Thanks,
Mark

I'm 105kg. I have cracked the rear rim (spoke holes) twice. I don't carry any load on the bike other than me.

Haven't done e-touring, but do 40-60 mile rides here in Tucson on "The Loop" and I find the bike handles like a charm. I'm 230lbs, 5'10".
