Time to say goodbye

About a a year and a half ago the wife and I purchased two Lectric XP Trikes. Within roughly the first 50-60 hours we had the dreaded rear axle bearing failures on both bikes. Instead of returning the trikes I went directly to the manufacturer of the rear end residing in China and purchased the axles as well as the bearings that failed. I rebuilt both trikes and we continued forward. After riding the trikes for roughly18 months our backs finally yelled “uncle” and we decided to throw in the towel. After doing some research and more than a few test rides we fell in love with the Meet One Touring Trikes, why because of full suspension all the way around, twin motors, twin batteries, and finally reverse. We almost immediately sold the Lectric Trikes at Facebook Marketplace and now patiently wait for the Touring Trikes to come in to the dealership (Outspoken E-bike Rentals in Akron, Ohio) Goodbye Lectric!

Looks interesting. It is very heavy though. How will you transport two of them? Or do you just ride locally where transport isn't required?

From what I understand the Tour is constructed of 6061 aluminum, but it is still not a light trike. That said about 6 months back we purchased a 12 x 6 cargo trailer with rear ramp door that I have been setting up to haul the two trikes as well as our golf cart. That way whether we decide to load the golf cart or the trikes we can set out on a journey and be ready for the ride. Once the trikes arrive I’ll post a picture of them in the trailer as I’m really proud of the way I finished the interior of the trailer complete with electrical, lighting, and even a slide out head for times we may be far from the facilities.

Good luck with the new trikes. I didn’t even know Lectric offered a trike, but I’m sorry to hear they didn’t work out for you.

I wonder why bearing failure is a “thing” with that model. To me, that seems like an odd problem to be having.
