Throttle/pedal assist not working consistently, cable connection issue?

Hello! I received my NCM Moscow Plus (my first ebike!) from Leon Cycle Canada via Amazon a few days ago, and after putting it together the throttle/PAS did nothing. I fiddled with cables and went through some general troubleshooting and it worked for a while but then after a day of riding again the throttle and PAS stopped working. Here is what I know so far:

Battery works, charger works, display works, the spedometer shows the correct speed when I am using only human power to pedal.
The top-left section of the display that shows bars representing the electric power being used to push the bike - this worked when the throttle/PAS was working, now it shows nothing aside from the word "power".
I have disconnected and reconnected the main display cable and the lower frame cable leading to the motor, several times, connecting them as securely as possible. This is what initially fixed the situation and made the throttle/PAS operational for a while. Then it stopped working and no matter how much I push these cables together I can't get it to work again.

I contacted NCM but I thought it might be worth asking here, I just want to get the bike working and go ride. Thanks.

Strange - be sure to call Leon Cycle instead of email. They have been helpful over the phone, but email response time isn't always the best.

I've already contacted them through Amazon, very quick response considering the amount of flak their customer service seems to get. With the information I've provided they have diagnosed this as a controller issue. They've let me know that they are sending out a new controller and will be paying for a local shop to install it. Thrilled with the support so far, and very happy with the bike aside from this one issue.

For sure, I did manage to trick it into working for a few battery charges' worth before the problem returned and it was really fun while it lasted. Can't wait to get it back.
