Throttle only setting

Can anybody help with the Yolin YL80c controller?
I thought PAS setting 0 would allow me to use the throttle only, but it is not working?

Can this be done ?

Thanks

Do you have the Y80 manual? They are posted in the eAhora section of this website. I have the same controller on my XC100 but rarely ride in PAS0. There is a table at the end of the manual on PAS levels and their respective power settings, which includes PAS0.

Also did you know you can configure up to 9 PAS levels? The default is 3 (excluding PAS0), which works fine for me, but the flexibility of this controller is very good. The table I refer to above explains the range of power you can assign to each level. I set mine to PAS1=55%, PAS2=75%, and PAS3=99%.

UPDATE: I have edited this post several times, and just decided to test it on my bike.

There is NO THROTTLE in PAS0.

However, I can't recall if there was an option to set PAS0 power level. Never occurred to me since I don't use 0.
Thanks for your reply. I have it in 0..5
Yes I played with the power settings but they don’t go down to 0 and I don’t see a setting for 0 pas.

I would be fine with setting 5 Pas as the throttle will go to max speed but I can’t turn off the Assist

Is there any other setting?

I edited my reply and don't think you saw the update. Re-read it and also get the manual if you haven't downloaded it already.

Yes, read the manul and tried to change settings. Can you see if your 0 Pas setting is throttle only?

I tried to set to default, but the setting up + i key does not bring me to the default factory setting.

As I said, I just took my XC100 out and put it on PAS0--there is no throttle at that level. I don't think it's possible to turn on the throttle in PAS0, but I haven't tried.

Ok, thanks for checking that. I will continue to search. Figure it should have THrottle only no PAS setting but maybe not :(

Thanks again

its very common, your bike is not broken or anything,2 of my 3 bikes do not have a Hot throttle in PAS 0.

Agree. PAS 0 kills the power to the motor on many (most?) bikes.
BUT-
Just a thought, but if you wanted to run PAS 5 to get full throttle, and do that with no assist, you might try unplugging the PAS sensor. If that works as expected, and you wanted to have your cake and eat it too, you could put a switch in one of the wires leading to the PAS sensor. ON=assisted OFF=no assist.

Yes this would be great. so I would just need another switch to block the PAS when I want to throttle. Maybe there is a guide on youtube.
thanks for this idea. I am in long island NY maybe Ebike shop?

The PAS and throttle USUALLY play well together, both working at the same time if you like. There's a possibility, I suppose, that some moronic software writer wrote some weird code for the controller on your bike that might prohibit that.

Best of luck passing a modification like this on to a bike shop. They're already gun shy (big time) when it comes to just working on something they didn't sell.....

The switch would go in the signal wire, one of 3 wires the PAS sensor uses. That should prevent any errors.
