Throttle on Roadster

Just got my Roadster. Everything I read and seen online said that is pedal assist only. But much to my surprise, it has a throttle! I’m not complaining, though. I’m really glad. Haven’t been able to ride it yet though. Weather is not cooperating!

Nice! Someone else on the forum just got a Gravelster, and that also has the display with throttle.

How responsive is the throttle?

Haven’t got to ride it yet. But just by holding up the back wheel,it feels kind of notchy, not real smooth.

There is a lag but it will slowly get you up to 20mph.

I have the throttle-less Roadster (got in 2021), but for my other e-bikes that have throttle, my technique is to simultaneously push the throttle while starting to pedal.

Pretty much only used when starting from stopped, when trying to accelerate faster from a light or stop sign. Or when stopped on an incline, to get going.

I find I like my throttle for a quick burst just to get up and running or to navigate through a tight spot where pedaling would be difficult or throw me off balance. I do like "immediate throttle" as opposed to the delayed throttle I used to have with my Frey CC...

Honestly, I haven't had or even wanted to use the throttle. I'm super stoked I received the gravel edition with it, though. I played with it on Day 1 and it definitely is cool but when I ride I never seem to think about it considering the normal #1 or #2 PAS is more than enough for my flat coastline roads here in Savannah GA. I routinely can cruise in #1 PAS at 15mph and hit 20+mph with #2. I can't even pedal fast enough to use #4 and #5 PAS. I assume they would be great for hills, climbs, and quicker takeoffs...

I love this bike.

I understand each bar on the controller battery display is equal to 20% of the charge but is there a way to see the ACTUAL PERCENTAGE or even, preferably, the VOLTAGE of the cells??

That would be nice. I know on our Lectric XP you can see voltage and have a little better idea of how much juice you have in the tank...

I have the Roadster v2, so can’t comment on the current display, but I was able to get all that information and more when I added the aftermarket EggRider display (which from what I can tell is compatible with previous and current Roadster/Gravelsters). I just received this information from Ride1up. I couldn't find this anywhere until now.
If Im correct, it looks like this Display will, in fact, show voltage. It also appears to allow changing of different parameters including the PAS.

I would appreciate some of you (smarter) guys taking a look at this and let me know what you think... If this is somehow common knowledge, I sure couldn't find it.
