Throttle cuts out

Yesterday I hit a pretty big bump. It bounced my cargo out of the basket and after stopping to put it all back, my throttle stopped working right. It only works for the first second or so after pushing the lever. The pedal assist still works fine though. Wondering if anyone knows what the problem might be? I trace the throttle wire but didn't see any issue. Bike is a Magnum Metro. Full battery. Thanks for any help.

Some thing similar happened to my bike (Ride1Up 700). The throttle acted just as you are describing. At first glance, the JST connection at the controller looked fine. I pulled the connector apart and I quickly saw the defect. Wire had slipped out of the connector. I was able to replace the pin and inset it back into the JST connector. On my bike the throttle has 2 connectors, the "water plug" type at the handlebars and a JST connector at the controller location. Did you trace the wire to the controller?

That fact that it happened after going over a bump suggests it's a loose connection somewhere.

The best way to identify the location of the problem is to duplicate it with the bike on a work stand. Unplug and reinstall the appropriate connectors and manipulate the wiring harness to see if it affects the problem. If not, it's likely the throttle or the controller.

This might be the thing to try first. :)
