We all know that sometimes buying ebikes online sucks due to the risk of shipping damage.

This bicycle box with a picture of TV on it was proven to prevent shipping damage.

Were shippers careful with it because it had a TV on the box?

Yes, it worked because shippers were more careful, the company owner makes it clear and even calls a "deception" .

There are also steps that will make a box more durable, like inserting coroplast sheets. Sheets need to go around, you take one big piece of plastic and crease it to fold around the wide/long sides, and then a narrow sheet to fold around the narrow sides.

I would suggest buying a huge sheet of Coroplast, cutting six pieces for the respective sides of the box, and gluing or stapling them to the sides of the box. Probably best to cut 1/4" undersize to allow for reasonable space at the corners.

$20 for a big sheet or coroplast. If this hurts their bottom line that bad, they should close out . Split the cost with consumers, for God's sake. nobody will notice $10 difference.

I'm a bit surprised by this. USPS, UPS and Fedex studies done years ago indicate packages labeled "Fragile" actually suffer more damage than those unmarked. As a result, many companies no longer mark packaging this way.

Wouldn't putting a picture of a TV on the box amount to the same thing?

Very interesting strategy to use for shipping (in general)! Glad to see they received very positive results from this. I must be one of the lucky ones. I ordered 2 E-bikes that were shipped via UPS and they both arrived in perfect condition. I always thought BikeFlights specialized in bicycle shipping reducing the likelihood of it suffering from further damage during shipment. I think they use FedEx if I am not mistaken.

Gotta say my experience when I received my box from Rad Power Box was great-no damage.

With that being said, the Velofix tech said most boxes are destroyed and they send many back with the bike.
