The very last decision - Dost Drop or Biktrix Stunner X

I have spent months whittling down my choices and have come to the Dost Drop and the Biktrix Stunner X. Researching numerous bikes has kept me Covid busy. I have read user feedback on numerous brands. In the end, I gave up on torque sensing, which I did want, but the pricing ended up nixing that. I ride mostly paved roads, with one big packed dirt road leading up to my house. I am quite heavy, so I know I need the nM and power these bikes offer in my hilly area of New Hampshire.

So, I welcome your opinions and experiences and I will make my final decision this week. I currently own a 3 wheel delta style e-trike (90lbs.) and ride it each and every day. I am hoping to have this new e-bike arrive before my 74th birthday (November).

Thank you for your input.

i don't know anything about dost but like the look of theirs with integrated battery better..
and the ability to buy a second battery for 349

but biktrix has a great reputation

Like Vincent said, Biktrix has a great reputation.

From the looks department, the Dost wins hands down IMHO, and if you're shopping for a step thru for physical reasons, then it's more "step-thru" than the Stunner.

If range is an issue, you would get more for your buck with the Stunner. You can spec out a Stunner X with a 48V 21ah battery for the same price as the single 14ah battery Drop. Of course, $350 is a fair price for an extra 10ah on the Dost.

Have you considered flipping a coin? :D

The Stunner easy, the Dost is super over priced, for 200 bucks more you could buy a Biktrix Ultra 1000! I would never even consider a Dost at that price

Thanks, guys. It's funny, but I had an easier time buying a $40,000 dollar car. I may have to find a coin.

Neither, if you can afford a $40K car spend a little more and get the WW superbike. The aftermarket controller is just phenomenal and worth every penny. If you are going to throw money away on an outdated cadence sensing motor get the Biktrix and cut your losses.

No stepthrough model. So, ixnay.

There is a step thru version.

A beautiful bike and worth every penny. But it's a stepthrough for very tall people only. For those of us under 6', not so much.

Why do you say that? They have multiple sizes for riders of all heights. They are illustrating with the largest spare battery. I don't know why, I told them they are losing business illustrating with the oversized spare battery. They should have an animated gif illustrating the bike without spare, with a normal spare, and with the oversized spare. bur it seems to have fallen on deaf ears.

Personally I would go for the DOST if I wanted to spend less money, or the WW UCP if money wasn't the issue, nothing against the Stunner, I just don't like the looks.
The Watt Wagon will have the best motor in the entire industry with the Archon X1 upgrade. The DOST has an older motor, but it is very quiet comparatively.

A decision has been made. Thanks to everyone for your input.
Hi,
I just googled Dost vs Bixtrix and landed here (no surprise as I’ve spent many hours on EBR trying to figure out which bike to buy). Anyway sounds like you made a decision and since I am where you were 2 years ago I’d love to know which bike you got and how you like it…any other feedback for a newbie!
I also seem to feel that torque sensing is the way to go but its hard to get everything you want in a bike that you like and fits.
Thanks,
k
