As mentioned by others, the US is big and people's needs vary which is why choice is good. I work in the 13th most populous county in the US and EVs have grown their share in total vehicle registrations every single month since they started tracking in 2017. Currently at 9.66% of registered passenger vehicles. About 120k fewer ICE vehicles on the road now than in 2017.Markit data 2025, EVs are 1.9% of vehicles in the US, but demand is actually predicted to drop.
Yes, there was a bump at the end of the tax credits followed by a dip but it looks like EV uptake is pretty much back to about the same pace here.
I suppose it could all look like a fever dream to a passive aggressive midwesterner with an inferiority complex...
