Markit data 2025, EVs are 1.9% of vehicles in the US, but demand is actually predicted to drop.

As mentioned by others, the US is big and people's needs vary which is why choice is good. I work in the 13th most populous county in the US and EVs have grown their share in total vehicle registrations every single month since they started tracking in 2017. Currently at 9.66% of registered passenger vehicles. About 120k fewer ICE vehicles on the road now than in 2017.

Yes, there was a bump at the end of the tax credits followed by a dip but it looks like EV uptake is pretty much back to about the same pace here.

I suppose it could all look like a fever dream to a passive aggressive midwesterner with an inferiority complex...

Thank you Mr. Obvious. Fairly fluent in OSHA (and MSHA) and Forestry regulations. Used to carry all appropriate safety gear in my truck/Suburban even if on family vacation so I could get on any site (without family) at any time of day. My favorite sites were forestry; MSHA rules are ridiculous; construction sites tend to be boring.

Really, time to get back on topic (EV dream) before the Irish Mafia shows up in person.

It is so funny. I am missing about 2/5ths of the conversation because a couple of years ago I blocked one guy. I still get the general idea and am glad that I gained immunity from it. For a couple years I blocked an eastern EU selfie guy who would put on all lycra to ride a bike that takes a dump at 15 mph. That is about the cruising speed of a single speed vintage Schwinn from 1949. I still would like for someone to dress for a road race and take a selfie on a MacFox. That would be just as silly.

Not all construction is done at large commercial sites. I am having work done on my house right now using a local contractor. The owner showed up in his plumber service truck, which is like an oversized van, and the worker bees came in a pickup truck with a shell. Tools, materials, and ladders were delivered with a pickup truck with a rack over the bed the day before. I had some flooring done last year and they showed up in a pickup truck as well. The guy that does our yard work also shows up in a pickup truck.

?? Don't know what I said that was wrong or misleading. I thought we were aligned until you mentioned pickups might be used for the same task, or be in an excavation area. If I get down to the area, I'll snap some pictures of pickups parked in the same road excavation site as rollers and dozers, just out of the path of current work.
