The Shimano manual Acera.

This is the pin the manual makes reference to.

That's for Claris, not Acera, but I noticed this important detail:

"The rear derailleur plate assembly is equipped with a pin or plate that prevents the chain from derailing."

Ooopsie, just fryed the end of the gear cable and now its gone beyond too short.

Nothing more enjoyable than learning bicycle mechanic basics even before having rode my new e-bike HAHA. I totally destroyed the gear cable .
Look forward in routing inside the frame a new one in soon.

Thanks I never heard of YouTube , I'll check that out.🤣

If you instead replace the Acera derailleur with the 591 derailleur as I did, then your shortened cable length might be OK, as I had to trim the cable when I installed this new better derailleur.

Thanks for the tip appreciated it. I already replaced the inner cable for the gear shifter. As I was rotating the crank and checking indexing multiple times ( lol ) at one point the chain come off from the smallest sprocket, unsure why since the cog seemed to have lined up with the smallest sprocket. Is there something else that could have caused even if the limit was set correctly? Cheers

Also, was the attached the derailleur that you speak of? Does anything else need to be replaced to accommodate this ? Thanks.
