The likely incoming 750w limit

My other hobby is ham (amateur) radio. Lots of items come from China, Taiwan, and Japan. I won't be buying anything radio related until some sanity returns to Washington DC.

My other hobby is RC airplanes. Not looking good there either as almost all of the RC stuff comes from China. Are any LEO's capable of actually checking the watt output from our motors? Seems to me just throwing a 750 watt sticker on anything would work

Yes! They check your chain for excessive stretch! 🙃

Yes it's definitely political as deep blue appreciates a clean as possible environment.
Maybe some deep red states can figure out how to have a coal fired vehicle. That'll be a win - win for the both consumer and industry! 🙃
remember the not so bright Orange guys mantra"clean coal"( please don't laugh till you puke hearing such an absurdity)

I think there is a big misunderstanding here. The U.S. e-bikes are allowed to have 750 W motors. The matter raised by Chargeride is related to Europe. To make a long story short: while the EU law allows 250 W continuous power, it says nothing on the peak power. As I can understand, the British activists want to introduce a clear law allowing up to 750 W peak power. I don't think it is 750 W continuous power.

Again, high motor power is only important to e-MTBers, as the Euro law limits the e-bike speed to 25 km/h (and it is 15.5 mph in the UK). More power in a legal e-bike does not mean more speed.

The EU and Britain's issue is the low speed limit for e-bikes, and that is what should be talked upon by the activists. Let me illustrate what the existing motor power can do:
I was to overtake a rider of a Chinese throttle e-bike today. My full power e-bike is limited to 45 km/h. I smoked the throttle rider at 42 km/h, inputting 209 W with my legs and getting the motor response at 520 W. So the combined power was 729 W. If the e-bike were restricted, I couldn't ride faster than 25 km/h despite how much power the motor would have.
so you used a "Vado" to smoke someone? interesting turn of events( I used to smoke vados-till the night of the "mushroom explosion"( must of been to much deer repellent on the "buds") Nah you a bad ass cycler keep up the good work doubt if my pipestems can output 80 watts.

When asked what "clean coal" was, trump responded. "They take it out of the ground and then they clean it"
Surprisingly they can use the same bleach that you can inject a person with to cure covid. He's such a wealth of common sense.

Well to be honest, thats exactly what they do 😂

Coal washing:
This process removes impurities from coal, reducing the release of pollutants during combustion.

So we have another rocket scientist and bearer of common sense.
Yes in part it's very much like ball washing. 🙃

But actually.... Clean coal technologies are technological advances that have led to more efficient combustion of coal with reduced emissions of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide. So actually it's more the capture of pollutants, not removal by washing it beforehand.

Its clearly part of it , I pasted that from the clean coal website, though Trump might have wrote it 😂

Washing coal in some manner might play a minor roll but the majority of the process known as Clean Coal has to do with combustion methods and toxic volatiles capture.
Google can be dangerous for the quick to copy/paste 🙃

and you still have the toxic ash to deal with,at least coal is a "fossil fuel" will run out eventually, much to my chagrin I have started to believe the "abiotic" oil nutters- bring fusion on.finally it seems within reach!

Fossil is still 84% of world energy usage and rising, it will take at least 50 years to replace it, I would say a 100 in reality.

Wind and solar are about 4% of world energy, but also intermitent making the reality even lower.

There are roughly 430 nuclear power plants on Earth, we would need up to 10,000 to replace fossil depending on their output power, just the cables to wire them all up would be beyond our manufacturing output by multiple factors.
We are struggling to build interconnects just for normal grid renewable balancing networks.
50 million miles of HV cable just to meet climate goals.

Vastly reduce consumption is the only way....meanwhile AI wants it all.

Solar is dead because the president doesn't like it.. 3,000% tariff on solar panels. No more wind turbines either, the president says they cause cancer and kill all the whales. This is warped reality we live in now yet the faithful still cheer.

Trumps "bizzaro" universe!

My friend works with our national grid, hes the other guy in my bmx mountain climb.

His workmate left for Spain and works on their grid, so this is friend of a friend stuff.
He says the Spanish grid failed because of oversupply, the HZ disconnectors dropped out as the power stations oversped and went above 52HZ and a cascade of dropouts occured.
I would call it simple teething problems of incorporating solar at recent record levels, probably a software fix.
But people died on home respirators, that needs looking at independently.
