The latest trend that’s helping reduce e-bike prices - Single-speed electric bikes

Another take, Harley’s new Serial 1 Cycle Company ebike brand has a single speed model the Mosh which uses a mid-drive motor, this might be unique among OEM brands as single speed ebikes typically use a rear hub motor.

I really like the look of that bike, looks like a solid quality build!

At a stop I prefer a quick 2 second burst of throttle to get rolling which is pretty much the only time I use the throttle.
I hate doing that, I think those little throttle tweaks are heavy hits to the battery's range. I'd rather ride it out until I have enough pedal rotation that I can downshift. But if I'm crossing a dicey intersection or going uphill...

Been riding my new Buzz ebike for the last 3 days. I find the 7 gears very usefull . Been really windy here the last few days. Have road many thousands of miles as a younger man, but the last 20 years it has been a single speed beach cruiser for me, and I have enjoyed it for all the reasons mentioned here. Now I have not put much on for miles ether. The buzz will change that . Primary use will be commuting , for exercise, and bike shuttles for kayaking . Maybe my beach cruiser will turn into a ebike.

My rides range in distance but no more than 25 miles in a single day so battery range is not a high priority with me.
