The joy of running errands on an ebike

It's a miracle that ebikes can provide mobility to folks who find walking painful. Who knew?

Have fun cruising the neighborhood! :)

When I have to do errands by car, I put everything off as long as I can and I try to bundle all the errands together. We'll run out of food before I get motivated enough to go to the store by car. But when I can do the errands by bike, I'm making up stuff to do. I'll make a bike trip to the store for one measly item and its an enjoyable thing. I do that by car and its an act of desperation.

Coffee and cookies errand. Coffee on the handle bars and cookies on the back. Cookies are going to the LBS as a gesture of good will. Yes, that’s snow in the background, the remnants of last week’s upper Midwest snow storm. Today is gorgeous so that snow will be annihilated shortly.

Grocery store run to Mom’s market, heavy water jugs in the trailer trunk, shopping bags in the panniers.

I stopped at the bank ATM yesterday for cash before going to the store. There was a 3" long rabbit against the curb of the building, right under the ATM. After the transaction I parked the bike outside. Wearing gloves, I picked the rabbit up and carried it under a bush in the grass border of the bank. It didn't kick, or squirm, or bite, or squeal. It just sat there. That spot where the cars idle may have been the warmest place on that windy cold morning, but a driveway is not a good place for bunnies. I hope it listened.
I set a new record at the store, $164 of supplies in the panniers & on the rack. With a water pik appliance and some medicine, it was not all that huge a load. Wind was 18 mph from the direction of home, so I used electricity most of the way home. I had pedaled unpowered outbound.
