Tesla Model Y Standard Range Available!

So Elon said they wouldn't product the cheaper rear-motor Model Y because the range (244mi?) wasn't high enough.

I think he was just trying to get people to order the more expensive dual-motor models because over the weekend the Standard Range Model Y became available.

For about $40k without figuring in the incentives, that's a pretty good deal for an EV SUV. The EV Kia Niro starts at around the same price but of course you can still get the US Fed credit of $7500... but the Y is a better vehicle than the Niro.

I just ordered one and it's 2-5 weeks out (which is probably a shorter wait than some e-bikes)... has anyone else ordered one?

Got my Model Y last week... man... it's weird getting used to.

I had a plug-in hybrid so I'm used to EV-only driving but this is a whole new level when it comes to the technology and regen braking on how you drive.

Got lucky because Elon discontinued the Standard Range and I was going to push my order out a month but the sales guy told me to take the one I configured because he wasn't sure if they would have Standard Range models at the end of March... plus I configured mine with a tow hitch (now I need to find a good platform 2+2 rack).

The car is awesome... highly recommended.
