TEKTRO HD-R510 pad replacement

I want to change the pads on these Tektro disc brakes fitted to my Vado SL5. It appears that there is only one screw to remove and I’m wondering if anyone has changed the pads on this model of Tektro brakes and if so, could they advise me on how to do this. It appears that there is only one screw to undo and I’m therefore wondering if you can just do this without actually removing the wheels or anything else?

I'm afraid you have to remove the wheels as the brake rotor would prevent removing and reinserting the pad.

By the way, what is the model of the pads you have bought?

TektroA10-11, I didn’t know which ones to get as there was quite a big choice, are these the right ones?

I don't know, Howie! I'm asking!
The point is, I've ridden for 5,000 miles on the original pads (I ride a Vado SL on the flat) and the pads are still healthy! However, there will be the time to replace them, and I have no clue what replacement to buy!

Following your question, I have now loocked up which pads to get for the Tektro HD-R510 system on the Tektro website (wish I had done this beforehandand) and I now realise that I bought the wrong ones! The ones to go for a Tektro F10BS. There is also a very helpful video on the site for this particular pad, which shows how to change them and it does seem quite a simple process.

Tektro Dorado
The OP has Tektro HD-R510 brakes on his Vado SL 5.0, and my Vado SL 4.0 is equipped with HD-R290 ones. Both take Tektro F10BS pads.
What about your Vado 6.0 it should have Magura or Tektro 4 piston calipers.

My Vado 6.0 is equipped with 4-piston 180-mm TRP Zurich brakes. These are e-bike specific, EU Type Approved brakes for 45 km/h e-bikes, and these brakes are equipped with a braking sensor for the STOP indicator tail-light. TRP stands for Tektro Racing Products, the high-end division of Tektro. TRP Zurich take Q20.11 brake pads.

TRP Zurich brake lever is equipped with a ball at its end, similarly to what is done to motorcycle brake levers.

The huge block of the TRP Zurich is made as a powerful radiator for quick heat release.
