Does anyone have experience installing supernova lights with a Bafang ultra? I have a crosstour. I had a bike shop order the lights for me, now they’re saying they’re incompatible with Bafang motors. But I can see that Pushkar talked about using these lights and I think offered bikes with them. Do I need special cables or something?

These are the specific lights they ordered:
Supernova M99 Mini Pro-45 Ebike Headlight
Supernova M99 eBike Taillight: 6V, Black

Thanks in advance for any help!

These lights are specifically designed for Euro "S-Pedelec" e-bikes with specific motors. They are compatible with Bosch "Speed" motors, Gen 2 to Gen 4. If you want to install them, it will require a lot of thinking.

Is Pushkar gone for good?

Bafang M620 light drive capacity 12V/12W
Supernova M99 Mini Pro-45 low beam 8.6W high beam 16W

The Supernova needs more current than the M620 can provide. Roo bad, because I have that exact headlight, and it's great.

I believe it's even lower than that. Last spec I came across was 6v / 500mA x 2 (front - rear)

That said on my Ultra bike I tapped the battery wires just before they enter the controller with a 4a fuse and wired the lights directly. I didn't want to use the display to switch On/Off the lights.
Additional I added a horn so I wanted independent buttons for all.

Just to mention, my Supernova M99 Pro (not Mini) requires 24 W for the high beam.
The latest Specialized Turbo Vado S IGH (a 45 km/h e-bike only available in the UE) has Supernova M99 Pro installed, and the motor is Specialized 2.2 S (Speed). Such motors have special connectors for Supernova (my 1.2 s has a similar arrangement).
