Suggestion for 48v 10-15ah battery

I'm looking for the most cost effective lithium battery for the amazon 48v 1000w rear wheel kit.

From what I've read 10ah means less distance than the 20ah, right? Desperately want to spend less than $300.

thanks

Welcome Justin. That's a tall order for less than 300. Post a little more information about your build. Have you purchased the motor and controller? Brand of kit (post link)? What type of battery mount, down tube or rear rack? What bike (pics)? Does the 300 include shipping? You can also read the many threads here on this topic, use search in the upper right corner. Good luck!

I did actually see that thread right after I made mine. Holy crap those are expensive. Unless there is a cheaper alternative I'll have to completely drop the ebike idea.
Do you need 48V? Could you get away with 36v? Batteries are about $3.50 per cell.

The advantage to waiting is the tech will improve and prices will drop.. With apple and tesla heavily into the eCar game, we might hit an inflection point in the coming year. I am waiting for prices to drop.

No, haven't purchased it yet. I'm trying to get it all planned first. Down tube or rear rack is fine with me and 300 doesn't have to included shipping.

Sorry... Didn't mean to disturb you cats! Didn't know this was an all feline thread....

Nice avatar, but you are a bigger cat than me.
Cougars do not roar, only purr, chirp and whistle. You got me on this one!

Big cats are cool, so they do not care very much. Bikes are not tasty prey. And, those pesky wires have a shock!

Ok, so am I totally screwed on the affordable battery thing? I refuse to ride around with heavy SLA batteries.

Are you willing to accept a used battery pack? Contact a local shop. Or, look on the Chinese web site, you might find a complete kit for less. This might be only complete bikes.

You should understand about battery grades. No all batteries are equal. Give yourself some time to read up to make a good choice, for your situation.

I think a used battery pack would be ok to get started. I'll check out the link.

If you come across one, could I ask that you send me a PM? I'll check back as much as I can.

I actually like your avatar better, because the animal is more colorful. However, I have a cougar in my neighborhood. I found her tracks twice in two weeks. She and her cubs are freaking me out. I run in their home range. I minimize the time running in the park.

This will crack you up. Two guys were stoned out of their minds. They tried to pet the cougar. The park shot the cougar with a tranquilier. They moved the cat to a bigger park. Either that one or another one took over shortly afterwards. The cougar has a name, "the Silverhill lion". The cat is a tv celebrity. Killed a deer in a neighbors back yard around Christmas. I found her tracks, then too.

Yeah I have a cougar in my neighborhood too. Mid 40's, divorced.. perhaps I should make her my avatar picture.

Anywho, I'll look into that $379 kit you posted a link to. I briefly (I'm at work) checked out Cell Mans site and if those prices all include lithium batteries that may be an option. I may end up selling a nice mechanical watch my ex girlfriend gave me. I know there are different grades of batteries so maybe I'll just have to do some research and post back with a couple of options you all can help me narrow down.

I would be more concerned about those vicious 40+ Cougars. Man those claws are sharp as razors. They sink the claws into you that are impossible to remove.

The shipping options out of Hong Kong are tough. You can put things in a cart and ask for a quote. That's em3ev. If you don't know how Amp Hours work, it's tough to recommend more adventurous solutions. You will see a lot of options on YouTube. Dig around.
