Stromer tires for 2018. Worth an upgrade?

Hi, since the 2018 ST2-S will come with Schwalbe Marathon Almotion HS 453 tires, is it worth looking at upgrading now from Conti Top Contact II? Maybe just the front tire??

?? Is Stromer mounting Almotion tubeless as it can go with a tube? Schwalbe discontinued one version of the Almotion, the Dynamic Casing version so ONLY the MicroSkin, TL Easy tire will be sold.

I'm actually considering the Dynamic Casing so anybody know of 26 x 2.15 stock somewhere? Thanks

What is the normal life of a Conti Top Contact on a Stromer?

“Worth” is a personal opinion. For me I almost always use what came and replace with better when the old is worn. The tire that come on the s are good tires. Money and hassle are the issues for me, if these are not issues for you upgrades are always fun. There is always something bigger better faster

that seems odd to forbid reflective side tires as they'd seem safer when moving, standing still, help cars see you so not sure on their logic. Anyone hear why they are now forbidden??

It is odd. It is not logic. Controls now need not be on the left side on the steer as well. Not sure either why, but it's part of the new rules as well.

Hi, I had the dealer mount 2" schwalbe marathon instead of 2.15" on my STX1, that is street legal in france, looks slightly better and should corner slightly better as well. Haven't made many km though yet. [ My 2018 controls+,-,lamp,honk are on the left side of the handlebar. Right side is a bit short of space with the gears, not great to drive with gloves, and I don't even have big hands. ]

The disadvantage of using 2.0 tires is that you loose a little bit of your topspeed (2.0 tires only 0.6 km/h)
