Stromer ST2 on fire?

the headlight looks like the one on the ST-1, but it could be an older Stromer ST-2; not sure of the history there...

Not sure about the close proximity of filming a lithium cell fire! But, people do the same thing with tornadoes.

I saw this video on the Neatherlands forums and it was deemed fake.

I wondered the same thing if someone would put a smoke bomb inside the frame just to create internet controversy and a few clicks on youtube. Edgar Allan Poe: Believe half of what you see and nothing of what you hear.

Why would it be fake?

Lithium batteries that get short circuited or physically damaged exhibit exactly this behaviour, massive amounts of white smoke.
There are several videos of batteries being intentionally short circuited and white smoke is exactly what you get.

And the last one, not intentionally lit on fire..

1. Take the battery out.
2. Put a smoke bomb in.
3. Light it.
4. Close the battery door.

Yes, of course, it's fake.

Batteries from E-bikes sold in Switzerland are "bullet proof". Whenever an incident happens, it was either a non-official charger (cheap buy from the internet) or non professional manipulation at the battery (damaging the BMS whilst changing cells )

The much more interesting question is: Hod did this ST1 from a newer series reach the south of Spain? My assumption is, the owner has no clue about this action....

You are correct, LiPo cells look like this when they burn. Bike batteries are lithium, but they are Lithium Ion, which contain a very small amount of polymer. They are much more stable as your first video shows.

Your first question is easier to answer though. It would be fake because so much of what is on the internet is fake. For example, the photo below is of an elephant actually giving a lion puppy a lift to the nearest watering hole. Abraham Lincoln took the picture while on safari.

View attachment 25822Maybe so, maybe no. If the elephant was riding on lions trunk- that would be fake. Cause lions don't have trunks.
