ok so I had a bit of an issue today. Wind was very prolific and I got tipped over! Battery bay door popped open (no I did not have it locked at the time- i need to repair the locking mech too!) and for some reason would not shut again. I had to unbolt it and do some work on it at home and even now its not all that great. Bike would not power back on no matter what I tried. The battery bay door doesnot seem to be sitting correctly no matter what I try. Is there a place where I can order one online? I am not too particular on the colour- i don't care if it matches or not..
I do my own repairs and own tons of tools. So prefer no "just see dealer" advise as I'm trying to figure this all out myself. I'm an experienced cell phone repair gal anyhow and do board level micro soldering.
Anyhow I immediately ruled out the battery by taking out multimeter and testing voltage. 37- which is in the expected range for this battery. tests looks good for continuity and the battery charges fine.
However I've not completely ruled out motor as I'm not sure what/how to go about testing this without taking apart the assembly/casing for it. I'm hesitant about doing this as my bike is only 1 yr old.
ALSO when I was doing some poking around I saw a few suspect wires...basically wires in poor condition. Now I already knew about the wires to/from the lighting system being shorted (I knew about this months ago and was always avoiding getting around to repairing them). However what's new to me is the wires going to/from the battery looking dodgey!
I ride this bike daily and yes even in winter. I also work as a food courier so it's kinda needed for the job! I do contract work for a few cell shops too. Basically this bike boots me around town so I can avoid transit/expenses of a car.
I've taken some pics.
