Stop sale on Como IGH models?

A few weeks ago I was in my LBS asking about the Como IGH models as I'm considering getting one for my wife and they told me there was a "stop sale" on them (sounds like something with the crank or crank guard but they weren't specific) no known timeframe for remedy and to allow for sale. Has anyone else heard about this?

I've been asking around in my region at dealers and here there is no sales block...

Yes there was. Not exactly sure what the issue was. Anyway we’ve been told that the bikes (Como 3.0 IGH) we ordered will soon be available.

Terrific! Be sure to post up your experience with them!

Interestingly, I checked with my LBS today and the stop-sale is still in effect - must be something specific to the U.S.
I'm in the USA: Specialized Rider Care ("SRC) told me a couple of months ago that both the Como and Vado IGH models were only temporarily withdrawn from sale because they are getting revised "chain guards". SRC said the IGH bikes would be available again this year (and with Enviolo hubs). But SRC didn't say when...

First ride, 8 kms, very comfy cruisy ride, Wynyard Tasmania, Australia. No problems finding the max speed limit in Eco mode. Very happy new owners. Mods so far are; Cannondale (right) bottle cage, Hafny rear view mirrors and Topeak MTS trunk bag.

hmm ok, here in the Netherlands there is no sales ban. I do hope they would go on the shopfloor soon.

I spoke to another (different) LBS (in Arizona, USA) and they too said their was a "stop sale" on the IGH models and said it has something to do with the chain guard (belt guard) and was waiting on word and remedy from Specialized.

I also came across this on Reddit from someone who sounds like they work in a bike shop:
"Has something to do with the bike needing a chainguard because it's not classified as a single speed. Silly law, we have 3 just sitting in the back of our shop collecting dust"

The bike obviously comes with a belt guard - albeit one which doesn't enclose the entire belt from crank to hub. If this is the case, it does seem rather ridiculous.

My wife’s TCU 3.0 IGH with chain ring guard. I suspect the chain ring guard is the new required part. We waited ten weeks to get our bikes but it was certainly worth the wait!

Aha, thats a need solution.... new "chain" cover on the chainring. In the EU I've not seen those, NEN-EN 15194 does not require those.

I got more info from my LBS - the issue is that apparently a piece of the cover can become caught in the drive. They have been waiting 5 months for Specialized to either provide a replacement part or recall the unsold units. My LBS has 2 on hand but legally can't sell them. It only is for the belt drive IGH models.

The replacement part has been produced and was fitted to our new IGH bikes, in Australia, at the beginning of this month. Might be worth getting your LBS to check with their distributor?
