Stem Extender for ENVO ST

Does anyone know if you can install a stem extender on an ENVO ST? I would like to raise the handlebars a couple of inches. Here are the specs....

Handlebars: alloy handlebar, 31.8mm TP22.2x680mm, 65mm, 30 degree
Stem: alloy thread-less stem, φ25.4* E110mm, adustable, sand black, MA-579, PROMAX

If so what size riser/extender should I use, and will there be enough play in the cable to allow for an extender?
