Howdy all:

Was wondering if anyone has purchased the Stache bikelock? Looks interesting like the Abus locks, but wondering what quality/security is like.

I do not have the lock. However I note same lock on Ali express made in China for about $25. Website does not say where Stache is located.

Nova Haibike is spot on with the nutsplitter attack. It's silent, quick and easily concealed, unlike a portable grinder. Unfortunately all of these folding locks are prone being disabled by simple tools.

I think any lock can be broken into and short of carrying a lock bigger than our bikes you will never be safe from thieves.

Yep, if you are going somewhere for longer that a half an hour and the bike is out of sight, take it with you. I rolled mine into the drug store the other day and nobody flinched...

Absolutely. But the longer, noisier, and more obvious and visible you can make it for the thief, the more secure your bike will be. My approach is to use multiple means to defend your bike. I have a decent lock & chain with an hidden audible motion alarm. There is not much more I'm willing to do as a deterrent.
