ST2s Torque Sensor Recalibration Recommended After Axle Retighten

After retightening my axle, I noticed my Stomer ST2s power was very touchy, on/off during pedaling and it was hard work getting above 23mph in setting 3. I stopped, accessed the torque sensor setting in the menu and selected recalibrate (you have to be sitting on the bike without touching the pedals or brakes). Immediately, I had full power back, smooth power transition and excellent cruise speed again. YMMV

Sorry I can't find "recalibrate" torque sensor on the menu.

Sorry I can't find "recalibrate" torque sensor on the menu.

  • On my Stromer ST2s, I access the settings menu using the "on" button under the crossbar.
  • Then the "SENSOR" menu
  • Which brings up "CALIBRATE SENSOR" or "SET SENSOR LEVEL"
  • Sitting on the bike, without touching the pedals or brakes, select "CALIBRATE SENSOR"

I've done the above, but??? I have not been able to recalibrate the sensor. In the menu I to go to settings, torque sensor. Torque sensor bar is on the middle between the - and + sign but theres not recalibrate option

Yours is an St2 I believe, same as mine. They're speaking of the new St2 s. Which might have different screen adjustment settings than ours.

the ST2S? interesting, isn't it the same screen option? Well I can't access the recalibrate option regardless of the steps taken. Now the bike somehow locked itself up, and I can't get it to unlock even though I have the correct pin number. This bike has been nothing but a pain in the rear! I just contacted Stromer via email to see how this issue can be resolved. Ever since I purchased this bike I've been having issues after issues. First the bike would shut itself off, then it wouldn't re start, I had to constantly stop riding to remove and re insert its battery countless, numerous times that I almost gave up but unfortunately I was way too far away from my residence. Then the issues with the torque sensors which was defective from factory, then after repairs were done I was hit with a repair bill, now this bs! I mean seriously!?

Gosh...that sounds like some real bad luck re your Stromer. Curious if "locked up" in this case means that your bike has gone into "theft mode"? If so the Omni phone app is your best resource to "unlock" it or "take it out of theft mode". I have had to do this on numerous occasions when I have started to wheel the bike away, forgetting that I had put it in lock mode when I turned it off. Basically, turn on the app on your phone and pull the screen down from the top (on an iPhone). Hopefully, an "Exit" mode will appear which will then let you get out of the "theft mode" and then enable you to use your pin to unlock the bike. Once I had to wait nearly 10-12 mins before the app communicated with my bike...on the other problems, again, I am curious as to why the problems were not covered by the warranty? I'm really sorry about the problems; no fun at all! My ST2 has had a few visits from the electrical gremlins, but I have been able to resolve them so far and otherwise the bike has been bulletproof...
