ST1 headlight replacement - what are my options?

I picked up a used ST1, and it includes the entire "city kit" minus the front headlight. I already have an ST1 with the small Supernova light as well as an ST2S with the M99 PRO headlight, so I know how these standard lights perform. Since I am spoiled by the M99 PRO headlight, I'm not too keen on paying ~$150 for the relatively dim stock Supernova light (The B&M light is even worse!) Has anyone here added a different (read: less expensive, better performing) alternative to the stock headlight? If so, how did it go?

Failing that, does anyone know what the standard specs are for the ST1 headlight power source, in terms of voltage and maximum power draw? I know that I'll have to find the proper 3-pin connector, but if I can find a better alternative than overpaying for the stock solution, I'll be happy.

Better than Supernova E3. Not comparable to the M99 Pro but works great nonetheless .

Looks good. Does the onboard switch of the NIP 800 control a second voltage output for the rear light?

I take back my advice. NIP 800 would not work on your bike.
The light voltage is 30+ and you could make the M99 Pro work but I am not sure if you would get the full brightness.

My bike mechanic used to attach the M99pro directly to the power source of the ST1. He added an extra switch, but if not, the M99pro shuts down from itself, when the Stromer is not in use.
Check the voltage specs on supernova website.

I like the Supernova. I ride dark roads without streetlights and it does great, plus it's plug and play...
