Some questions now that I´m waiting..

For my first Specialized Turbo Vado (6.0).
1) I have read somewhere that you have to work really hard to reach 45 km/h (28 mph), if not ideal conditions. Is this the case even in Turbo mode? What speed would you say is easy to achieve even with a bit of wind and not ideal conditions?
2) I am a bit concerned about range and am thinking about buying an extra battery right away. I will use my bike in my work sometimes, so trips around 40-60 km could be required once in a while. Since I am not the fittest person in the world I would probably need to use at least sport, in steep conditions maybe turbo. Will I be allright for 40-50 km? (I know range depens on wind, hills, my weight (90 kg) ), but an estimation.
3) I understand there is a horn..no bell available?
4) I used to have the Stromer ST2..what are the advantages and disadvantages of Specialized Vado?
5) Other inputs about the bike that is good to know?

From the time stamp on your post I’m guessing you’re in Europe. I think you have to go to Specialized’s US site to get to their Range Calculator.
You will notice that speed and hills eat the amps in your battery. Link below is calculator for Vado 6.0 with 1.3 motor. I don’t know what motor is offered with a Vado 6.0 in different countries, the newer 1.3. or maybe the older 1.2S.

I have a 2018 Vado 6.0 and really love it. This is second season of riding it and I’m still learning. I have to admit that when I first received it I tended to ride in turbo all the time, just cuz it’s so darn fun. No trouble getting to 28 mph (45 km). However this season I tend to prefer either eco or sport mode, simply to extend the range and the fun ride. I’m around 60 kg weight and pretty sure I could get 100 km on a full charge (no wind or hills), using sport mode. But I noticed the other day I had a nasty head wind and that seemed to drain the battery much faster. The bike seems to cruise effortlessly on Sport at around 27 - 32 kph, and I have very whimpy legs.
I would simply suggest a test ride, if possible.

I have the prior-gen Turbo X (2016) with a rear (hub) drive, so apples to oranges, but since you asked...

When I'm cruising on flat sections with no wind, my speed is generally between 26-28mph but I'm putting in significant effort (I'd guess around 200W). I don't think my motor alone with light pedaling would have the power to do it (although I should give it a try for comparison).

Maybe the mid-drive bikes are more efficient?

Also flagging that even though my actual speed whenever I'm moving is 26-28, my Strava average is almost always right around 20 because of the lost time as I speed up and slow down for lights (approximately 1 light per 2 miles on my route).

"Other inputs about the bike that is good to know?"

Perhaps the most important is the one which seems to be overlooked in the forum. The "Mission Control" app for the Vado as a "tuning" function which would seem to be a help in tuning your Vado to your individual ability.

I underscore the "seems" qualification as, though I have looked, I have not found a thread which discusses the tricks [if any] one could use to improve performance, e.g. possibly increasing the level of motor assist at lower cadence levels. That this is possible is hinted at in videos on the Mission Control, but the specifics are absent.

If I am mistaken and this is ground that has already been covered, please forgive my ignorance and give me (and the op) a shove it the right direction as I would really like to get an inkling of what Mission Control can do for the rider before going to the trouble of downloading the app etc.

happy rides
