Skinny Tires (27.5 X 2.4) on a Fat Hydra?

So my Fat Hydra frame/moto/battery kit should be shipping soon. My last conversation with Pushkar he said it was back from paint and getting the decals done. I have a nice set of Nextie Tri Spoke Fat Wild Dragon wheels and Maxxis Colossus 26 X 4.8 tires waiting for the bike. I wanted a second set of wheels for street riding and one of the guys at my local LBS said he runs 27.5 inch wheels (46mm wide) with 27.5 X 2.4 Schwalbe Slicks on his Farley for summer street riding. Aside from looking slightly odd does anyone see any ill effects from doing this?

I bought an Ultra powered Rize RX Pro fatty, and because the fat tires didn't work out as well as I had hoped, I'm in the process of converting that bike to 27.5 x 35mm rims w/2.8" Schwalbe Super Moto-X tires (slicks). The wife and I have several other 27.5" city bikes (snow birds with 2 homes, bikes at each end), and once I tried a set of the 2.4" Super Moto-X tires on one of them, the rest were all converted as well. LOVE the low rolling resistance and ride provided by the 2.4". Looking forward to seeing what happens with the 2.8" tires.

Worth mentioning probably, is what it cost to build up a set of 27.5 wheels for a fatty from individual parts ($$$$). If there is ANY way possible, I would try to make that set of 27.5 (summer) wheels/tires part of your deal. Purchased separately, it wouldn't be hard to wrap up nearly 1000 or so using quality parts......

I found a set of Framed/Pub wheels in 27.5 with 150/197 spacing for dirt cheap. I’d mount the tires on these as I want to keep my total cost under $500.00 if possible.

At some point after I get my Hydra... 🤞 I would like to build a set of 29ers with Wide Hubs. Possibly get my local bike shop build the 29er set. DT Swiss 350 Big Ride hub, quiet version?!?! Maybe WW could sell them down the road too?

I’m giving this setup a try. I’ve got nothing to lose as if I don’t like it the tires will always work on my other Hydra that came with 27.5 inch wheels. I know Nextie will make a set of 27.5 or 29 inch wheels with 150/197 spacing so if this works I may eventually go with them and get a nice set of wheels.

My man! Fat Tires and 29s are roughly the same circumference. I'm looking forward to your build.
