Single gear variable assistance levels?

I live in a generally flat terrain region, but I would like to have the option of having a good workout sometimes when riding my e-bike. Ive noticed e-bikes that I am looking for generally have three levels of assistance. With level 1 being the least I assume. Can the ratio of each assist be changed? For example, can a level be set to assist ever so slightly? I am aware that I could turn off the e-bike but would like a slight assist most of the time. And how does single gearing play into this in relation to flat terrain? thanks

I have a Rad Runner 1 and it does just fine on flat terrain. Just ride the bike and mess around with the PAS, you'll find what works best for you. I tend to hang around in 2 for exercise, 3 for cruising and 4 for being in a hurry.

Thanks for your response. How about when having PAS off completely and wanting to ride it like a "normal" bike? Im assuming only then would gears become useful? I prefer to go single gear but still researching this.

I rarely go no assist. These ebikes pedal like little tanks with no assist. Lowest assist will give you what your looking for with or without gears. I got my 'Runner 1 for its simplicity but after riding the 'Mini ST I purchased I kinda like having the gear option. It would be a tough choice if I had to do it again, picking a single speed or geared ebike.

There are no generalities to all eBikes. Some bikes will let you adjust the PAS levels, but usually higher end machines with an app for your phone. Low end are you get what you get. Different motors brands and style have different resistance. I suggest riding as many ebikes as you can before buying.

Mini ST looks and seems to be fine, but I dont want to be straining that bike since its rated max weight I believe is 275lbs and I weigh 250.
