Shipping nightmare core-5

I have been looking at many options and done lots of research on ebikes the past few years. Finally I found something. I live north of the border and live in a walkup apartment. I decided on the Core-5. I bought due its weight and what seems like good value for an entry level bike. I won’t get into the shipping nightmare but it finally arrived today. And I am disheartened. It surely looks like I received a bike that had been opened and taped back together. No plastic straps securing the box. There is also tape down the corner of pne side of the box. But there was 5 strips of packing tape holding the box together. A few holes in the box, thats fine. I am waiting to have someone assemble and tune it up before my first ride. Pretty disappointed that a company would send an open box bike to a customer. Or at least it sure as hech looks that way.

Has anyone else had a similar experience? And any idea what I should do? Its scheduled to be assembled Friday.

My core 5 box did not have straps, but had staples along the top. Also had clear tape strips on top and corners but that wasn’t holding the box closed. Any pictures?

Sure. Give me a few minutes. Every unboxing video i have seen has the straps as well. You can also see holes where the old staples were. They did re-staple.

If the bike isn't damaged, all is good? Shippers are pretty rough on big cartons and don't care as much as I think they should handling the packages. Sometimes they put the tape on during shipping, I know USPS does when one is coming apart. My bike's carton was jacked up too, but inside was well packed and the bike was not damaged. So I guess the box and tape did it's job in the end.

Thanks for your support. I am hoping all the parts and documentation is inside. Hopefully nothing is bent or twisted etc. I am having someone assemble and tune it.

Similar to mine. The fedex lady at the pickup location had to add tape to the box, so it wouldn’t break away. All good in the end.

Mine arrived on April 30 with the box opened. Clearly somebody opened the box for what reason? Did somebody think there were drugs in the box? Hummm. Secondly, after reviewing several eBikes during my research, especially the Gen3 Stride bike...it became clear to me that having the front fork pre-installed would not require a much larger shipping box and it would eliminate installation problems big time. The Gen5 Stride is a very similar design and it's shipped FREE including the front fork installed. On mine, the steering tube top cap bolt was not machined right because it stopped after 2 turns. Seriously guys? I mean it would cost nothing but a little bit larger box to have that front fork pre-installed CORRECTLY. I have seen several Core 5 videos where guys have forgotten spacers, installed the fork backwards, and guys torquing down the steering tube top cap bolt too much. Seriously guys, considering the front fork is a critical part of the bike safety wise, just do it. Secondly, how can such a great bike have such a horrible seat? That SR seat company makes a "gypsy" model (which I bought in Walmart for $29 which is cheaper than the seat included)...is sooooo much more comfortable and would not get any complaints. FYI...the Gen3 Stride ships free for $999 including fenders, front suspension fork, cargo rack, and lights. So don't tell me that Ride1Up can't pre-install that front fork and still ship it free. The only reason I went with Ride1up is I didn't think Gen3 would survive being a new company.

What part of the shipping was a nightmare again? If the shipment wasn't lost, it's not a nightmare!
