My Shimano E8000 drive unit is approaching 40,0000km and I think it’s time to do some preventative maintenance on the gearing and moving parts
Anyone know of a suitable grease I should use
I’m thinking something lithium based?
Impressive mileage! Are you planning on taking the motor apart? If so, I don’t think it is an easy task from the videos I’ve watched. Could cause more harm than good....

Thanks...it’s been bullet proof to date, and still on the original battery
A new office location means my daily commute is now 80km/day round trip, so it adds up quickly
I doubt very much I will get 100k out of it
If I do, hopefully Shimano will reward my support as a product ambassador and gift me a spare drive unit or battery
I’ve not found many reports of mid drives exceeding as high mileage, but I believe there is another member here on EBR with even more mileage on another Shimano drive
Next ebike is already in the planning and due to my use case will be a hub drive kit conversion
