Friends,
After my original Tektro brakes which came with the bike wore out, I had the LBS install Kool Stop brand brake pads, and they were constantly squealing / making noise.
Then finally came across Shimano B05S Brake Pads and they are totally awesome, although not e-bike specific they seem to perform great, and are silent.
Does anyone use e-bike specific brake pads?
From the web:
"Shimano B05S-RX brake pads are not specifically branded as e-bike brake pads. They are standard resin disc brake pads compatible with various Shimano hydraulic disc brake calipers, including models commonly used on mountain bikes, hybrids, and e-bikes.
However, Shimano does produce e-bike-specific brake pads (e.g., the Shimano E01S or other models labeled for e-bike use), which are often designed with enhanced heat resistance and durability for the extra weight and power of e-bikes.
The B05S-RX pads can still be used on e-bikes if they fit your brake caliper, but they are not explicitly marketed as "e-bike specific." If you're looking for longer-lasting or more heat-resistant options, consider metallic pads like Shimano D02S or other sintered alternatives."
