Don’t know much about Chinese factories but it’s mostly integration and little manufacturing at R&M. And a proper accounting of worker salary/benefits would include the workers making the frames, circuit boards, switches/buttons etc etc etc.
 
Thanks for sharing @Timpo it was fun making the video and diving deeper into what goes on.

@dblhelix I think we might see a future where they are making their own frames, but it’s quite an undertaking to make modern frames at scale. These days it’s all about robots and the investment is massive. I think there will be some shifts in manufacturing in the coming years due to changing economics of manufacturing in this increasingly automated world. It will mean a loss of jobs and could also mean reshoring of some industrial manufacturing. This is a very interesting concept as it seems to have a major impact on local and global economies.
