Multiple reports of the battery falling out during riding, and causing a crash in at least one instance:

"Ride 1 up prodigy my first ride and battery dropped out at 28 mph. I even had a professional ebike shop do the full assembly just in case of crash I new did all I could, the bikes chain is messed up as well! Please be careful, I would use gorilla tape over compartment as caution.

I don't know if this is a chronic issue with this bike or not, but it's not the first time this has happened to an e-bike. Some are using a velcro strap to insure it doesn't happen to them. Much better plan if you want to be able to pull that battery.....

The odds of the battery falling out are apparently much higher when the battery is below the down tube rather than on top of it...

One of my previous bikes had a tendency for the battery to come loose and have intermittent electrical contact so I kept it tightly strapped.
On my Prodigy ST just for peace of mind the battery is strapped with a 2 inch wide Velcro strap with a wooden wedge under the strap to keep it nice and tight.
A stitch in time saves nine.

That's what I'm currently doing. Better safe than either getting hurt or having to spend $500 on a new battery.
