Replacement Vado SL seatpost

Hello I have a new Vado SL 5 which has the rear light attached to the seat. The cable runs through the seatpost. I want to replace it with a suspension post but my preferred Suntour option will not allow the cable through the tube. Can anyone recommend a suspension seatpost that will allow me to pass the cable through the tube. Thank you

Is the Kinekt a better design ? I have already mentioned I have the Redshift : But I noticed on 2 other forums as with this Forum : The Vast Majority unless they already had a Redshift like I do > Are getting the Kinekt 10 to 1 over the Redshift . Curious as to why

my Trek ebike has the same situation. There’s no fender to run the back light wire so Trek mounted the light on the seat with the wire running through the seat post. I use Kinect seat posts on both ebikes. The Kinect people were able to drill a hole in the new seat post for the wire and said they do that quite frequently. Yes, there was a small charge ($25?) but I just paid it rather ask hubby to do it or attempt that task myself. Other members can comment on other brands like Thudbuster, Suntour, etc.

I run a Kinket on mine. I simply disconnected the brake light wire for the time being and wrapped it. I'll drill a hole in the Kinekt post at some point down the road.

I have patches of tar strips on the roads where I ride and I detest them with a regular seatpost. Could you tell me how the Kinekt seatpost works in this situation? Thanks

You mean like the ones outlined in RED? The Kinekt smooths stuff like that out but it can only dampen so much in irregular pavement. I have the Specialized Creo and recently was riding on a road with a ton of that kind of patching. Hundreds of feet at a time over about 5 miles. I still felt some of it but not as harshly as without the seatpost. My worst problems were when a series of them ran kind of parallel to my direction of travel. My front wheel would be channeled or kind of trapped and occasionally grab control from me. But the Creo is a road configuration and might have more pressure in the tires: 700x28mm leading to more road irregularities being felt.

Both Kinekt 2.1 and RedShift ShockStop dampen such road imperfections to the level you even don't notice them. More: Ride onto a nasty speed bump and you cannot feel it, either

I use both seat-posts on Vado and Vado SL, respectively. (Neither of the e-bikes I own has any form of stock suspension).

@Velome: Here's the report of full Redshift ShockStop suspension on Vado SL 4.0.
Kinekt is equally good and appropriate for 4.0 non-EQ because of the tail-light arrangement.

It was Guru who did it. I keep my Vado SL "equipped". Very glad to have fenders this Winter!
