I need a new battery for my EVO 27`5 2015 model. The original battery is 48v/417Wh - I would like to replace it with a newer, higher capacity battery, either 500Wh or 600Wh. Will it fit on my bike? If not, is it possible to make it fit?

I believe all 2015 Evo models were 36 volt. Check the label on the pack. It might be possible to have your pack rebuilt to a higher capacity by these folks:

For a new pack I think you're confined to the original specs.
What about the 2017-2018 EVO Cross 500wh; will the 600wh battery from the Evo Cross Pro (same year model) fit? Looks like the frames are identical on the two versions.

I guess you are right, then I have a 2016.., my mistake
Anyway my last question remains:
the newer EVO cross model (2017- ) with the new lighter frame; are the 500wh and the 600wh batteries interchangeable, or is it only the PRO version that fits the 600wh battery?
It’s a bit confusing to me using Wh but it is possible to increase Wh with the same number of cells, and is dependent on the Mah rating of the cells used. For example, If PF cells were used, 2900mah, the pack could be built with 3500mah 35E cells. A nice little boost.
