Rattling Battery lock

Do you have a pic of the locking mechanism? Is there a locking pin?
I have a Hailong battery in a custom build and it used to rattle against where the locking pin passed through the mounting plate. Adding a bit of gorilla tape over the hole put enough tension on the pin to eliminate the rattle.

I have the same issue with my Liv. The key mechanism seems very loose. (I can almost spin it around.) I was hoping for an easy fix without having to pull off the plastic housing for a better look.....

Well yeah, same bike, same mechanism, the side-motion tilt-out pack, right?
So there are four torx screws for each top and bottom housing on the frame for the battery pack. The bottom one attaches to the top of the motor, and top one with the lock mechanism - bolts to the top of the frame tube/housing. You'll need a set of torx drivers - a cheap set at HF works fine - they look like a nut-driver but have a torx driver end. HD might have them, may cost twice as much too.
I got a partial turn on about half of them. My bet is too many are loose and you're getting a rattle. Both of ours are really tight in there, solid.
Make sure the two black pads that hold the pack off the inside of the frame housing are there and tight as well - they just have two small phillips screws each.
Funny, I've only had the battery out of the Explore once, never pulled the LIV. Just pulled them both and checked the mounts. And they are exchangeable - might be cool for a LONG SOLO ride if the occasion ever came up. They're heavy though!
We're planning an epic trail ride tomorrow - I found a bunch of trails/paths on google-maps that we've never heard of in 28 years here. Get back before it gets hot - 99 here tomorrow, 101 today!

I tightened them and that did nothing. That is NOT where the rattling is coming from. The rattle is from the round piece where you insert the key. I'm considering taking the piece off that is held on by those torque screws to see if there is something that can be tightened from behind the key insert piece. However, access is difficult so I'm reluctant to do so.

With the key in, and turned on, could you wrap a piece of velcro around the battery, and wedge the key/lock unit into the battery? I had a battery rattle that I fixed that way.

It almost sounds like the keeper for the lock cylinder is missing or loose. You couldn't disassemble the top pack mounting that has the lock bolt and cylinder in it?
Usually a lock cylinder has a spring type retainer clip, or a threaded holding nut. Perhaps that is loose or missing.
When you turn the key it activates the bolt? And locks the battery in? But it rattles?

This is what I was thinking. The only way to deal with it will be to get the battery cover off. My Rad Rover battery sounds similar. I only took it apart once and it was tough. The plastic is thick and hard to manipulate. It's unlikely to break before it opens enough to get past the latch points though. Mine took a decent sized straight screwdriver to get between the seams and for leverage. It will probably void the warranty on the battery if you open it up, and it will be equally difficult to put the cover back on. Batteries aren't cheap! But once the cover is off you should be able to see the problem and fix it pretty easily.

This isn't a battery rattle, it's a key opening piece rattle and there's no connection with the battery.

Yes! Exactly my thought and why I tried to remove the plate to access the back of the lock to get to the keeper.
