I bought my Radwagon for exercise and for running errands. Yesterday I made it to the grocery store and today the pharmacy. I couldn't decide on buying the bike without seeing it perform since I was worried how it would do on the hills. I shouldn't have worried. I've been riding 6 or 7 miles each morning and am having a lot of fun. I have my gears set on 1 and 6 and have been using numbers 2 and 3 on power assist. I can run everywhere I need to ride on these settings. I am very happy I bought this bike. The engineering took a lot of thought and the performance exceeds my expectations. I sat on the fence for 3 months with this purchase and am now so happy I bit the bullet on this one.

What I like about the Rad Power Bikes selection is they are affordable, good selection to pick from, excellent customer service for only being a Seattle based company, and you have the 1 year warranty. I don't think I would have dipped my toe in the ebike pond without Rad Power Bikes as an option. I was able to get 2 Radrovers the same price or cheaper than one ebike with similar features from other manufactures. Volt 750 bikes come close; but, Rad had some extra flexibility I liked better (after market battery upgrade, more bottle bosses, larger hand grips, 60 tpi tires, heavy duty controller, color options). Sondors was first on my list;but, no dealer network, less than half the power of Rad ebikes, and 30 day warranty make me drop them off the list real quick.
I agree. The price point helped finalize the order for me. I never would have bought one for 3 grand.
What aftermarket battery did you purchase? Was it for performance or just to have a spare? Please provide a link I possible. Thanks!

I had a battery pack fail under warranty and Rad Power bikes replaced it. Did some research and took the failed battery pack apart to find it just had a blown internal fuse. It only took 15 minutes and 50 cents to repair. I didn't need to purchase a back-up/replacement battery since I ended up getting a spare.
Luna Cycles sells direct replacements battery packs with no modification needed and they are plug-n-play with existing tray with standard 48v 11.5ah battery:
48V 13.5ah: (Link Removed - No Longer Exists)
52v 11.5ah or 13.ah: (Link Removed - No Longer Exists)
You will need to upgrade the battery charger to one that supports 52 volts if you go for the 52v version.
Standard battery: 48v X 11.5ah = 552 watts
Luna cycle 48v X 13.5ah = 648 watts (would be my choice for most bang for the buck and you can use your Rad charger)
Luna Cycle 52v X 11.5ah = 598 watts (will give you a touch more power; but, a little less range compared to 48vX13.5ah)
Luna Cycle 52v X 13.5ah = 702 watts (power and range)
I figure the battery pack will be the first thing to fail or reduce in power levels to limit longer rides. I rotate the 3 pack around to try and give equal charge/dis-charge time. I hope to extend my riding time at max charge by an extra year or two. If other components fail after the warranty like the controller or hub motor, I can convert the Radrover into a mid-drive with a kit from Luna Cycles and use the 3 Rad batteries.
