Radwagon 4 now shipping with much cheaper components...!!

I received my Radwagon 4 two days ago. I like the size, design, the quality of the frame, tires etc. Unfortunately, they replaced the advertised brakes and shifters with much cheaper parts. Instead of the Shimano gears, the bike came with a MicroShift drive-train. The brakes are really bad. Instead of the advertised Tektro ones, the bike came with 'Radius' brakes. The stopping power is not confidence-inspiring. I know the website/fineprint says the components may be different due to supply issues, but I would hope for better components not the cheapest ones available.

But the biggest quality control issue is the headtube bearings came with metal filings in them, and made a grinding sound when I turn the handlebars. I thought the bikes were checked before being shipped. I guess Radpower is selling them too fast to check the quality of the bikes. I contacted customer service and they are sending me new bearings and paying for having them replaced

But I'm still not happy with the substandard components on the bike. Not sure what can be done about that.

I know this is an old thread but wanted to provide my feedback.

I also was expecting Shimano drivetrain/shifter & tektro brakes. I personally actually like the trigger shifter better than the low grade shimano shifter and the gears seems to work well. With the brakes, they seem to do the job. I've ridden the RW for over 150 miles now and don't seem to have an issue, even when going at the higher speeds of 24 mph (after editing the settings). I personally would have loved hydraulic brakes but it's not an option with the RW so if I want more stopping power, I'll just need to upgrade.

Actually, I found Tektro E350, more affordable than E730 or E725.
Thanks for the info Timpo. Originally I was thinking of the Juintech caliper but in learning more about it, I actually read a post of yours where you talked about the differences between the hydraulic caliper vs full hydraulic.

I'm leaning towards the NUTT brakes you suggested. I appreciate your feedback!
