RadRunner 1 Gear Shift Ability

I have done or tried just about every mod possible on a Radrunner 1, and love what I have as a result. However, I see the new RadRunner Plus now has gear shifting ability. At first I thought that was a bit superfluous, but am beginning to "get it" and want to try getting there. I have seen a lot of discussion about the idea, but nothing in the way of a successful transformation. Has any one tried? Are there any "bolt on" kits out there" How about after market generic kits that may work? I'm willing to invest the money and time to try, but need a place to start??

You have the 7 speed cassette already, right? Or am I thinking of somebody else? My first step after that would be to come up with a way of installing a derailleur. That hung/installed properly would make the rest of the install pretty easy.

I would look for a good picture of the "plus" that would show the bracket the derailleur hangs on - what the bracket looks like - AND - how it's fastened to the drop out. You need to know if those same holes are available on your bike....

Yes, I have the 7 gear cassette installed. I ordered a Shimano derailleur, cable and shifter last night. I am low on handlebar space, so I also ordered a combo shifter/brake handle/shifter, and will give that a try. Lastly, I bought a couple of different derailleur mounts to try out. This is the beauty of Amazon: I just return everything I do not use!

Sounds like you're on your way! Best of luck, and keep posting regarding your results. Pretty sure I'm not the only one following at the moment, and pretty sure there will be others in the future....
