They are close in price RadCity has more accessories included and suspension but has less range and is 13 lbs heavier. The Aventon has a faster top speed (28 mph) and more torque and range but 250 less watt output and no accessories included.
Not sure what is better rads fearless direct drive or Aventon’s geared one.
Please Help

Both good bikes, the weight savings is certainly a consideration. What sort of riding were you thinking of doing? If you're commuting on streets the range and speed of the Aventon would help if you're riding in from further out, but if you're thinking of taking it on bike paths you might prefer to remain Class 2 legal with the Rad. I've read pros and cons of geared hub vs direct drive, from what I've read on this forum geared hub may be better for climbing steeper hills while direct drive has fewer moving parts so may be more reliable. Is there a shop near you selling Aventon?

I was looking for an Ebike as well and looked at the Radcity, and Aventon Pace But then I found the Juiced bikes... They just released the new CCS2 with free fenders and rack for $1799... It was the closest to what I was looking for with torque sensor or cadence , 750 hub motor, hydraulic disc brakes, 52v Battery .... here is their link https://www.juicedbikes.com/products/crosscurrent-s2

No experience with the RAD but purchased a PACE 500 a few months back and love it (also wanted a lighter bike so went with the PACE). To get fenders and a rack was < $60.00 - Pace sells fenders on their site and got the rack from Amazon. Also got a suspension seat post and it's now perfect for me.

The Juiced Crosscurrent 2 is also class 3, isn't it? 28mph max according to the link. It looks like a pretty amazing bike for the price, though it is also quite heavy IMO (too heavy for me).

While Juiced sell the CCS2 as a Class 3 with a sticker, it has a 'race track' mode that goes 33mph, a 25A controller and 52v battery so 1,300w peak power - not a Class 3.

It comes with the availability to set at class 3 or race mode BUT it comes shipped as class 2 with class 2 sticker as per Juiced

i bought my son a pace 500 an man what a great bike for the money. i ride a stromer st2s and he pulls away from me everytime. its a very quick bike for sure. id like to see a larger stock battery and a flat mtb handlebar. its got a bolt upright riding position that needs a more sporty option.

There is a thread here that I asked a similar question. I asked why the RadCity claims to have a 750w motor when the manufacturer of the motor says it is not. You might want to look at thread :)

I test drove a RadCity. It is NOT fast. It is comfortable, but not fast. I was not impressed with the motor, that's why I asked on the forums about it.

Good luck.

Yeah they use Shengyi motor and Shengyi don't have 750 w motor. But they can get a peak output of 750 w motor with proper controller. It isn't totally a wrong info but little bit manipulated.

I would choose Juiced Crosscurrent 2 or Ariel Rider C-Class if I were you. One is very powerful and other one is a mid-drive electric bike with hydraulic brakes (both). For city I feel mid-drive can be a better choice for range and hill climbing skills.

The Aventon Pace 500 has hydraulic brakes and class 3 speed, and IMO is the better ebike between those 2 which are very close in price when equipped equally (BTW, the juiced CrossCurrent S2 is +$400 more and you still have to pay +$100 more to add rack & fenders and tail light, so the comparison is apples and oranges as it is out of the price range of the Aventon and Rad). The Aventon Pace 500 also weighs 14lb less than the RadCity (49lb vs 63lb). It also comes in small/medium/large sizes & 2 colors and a step-thru in small/medium and 2 colors, to bike fit you perfectly. Rack, fenders lights for the Aventon can be had for $108 extra (see list below), and IMO they will be better than the included rack fender and lights of the Rad (albeit not integrated, but can be made such with a $3 dc to USB converter https://electricbikereview.com/forums/threads/integrated-brake-light.25988/#post-181068 , and a hell of a lot brighter to be seen on the road even during daytime). You also might want to add a suspension seatpost and/or suspension fork on the Aventon. To compare apples to apples you would have to add a suspension fork on the Pace 500 (+$56 https://www.amazon.com/SR-Suntour-Mountain-Bike-Travel/dp/B07J62BQLT/ ), plus rack/fenders/lights +$108, but also hydraulic brakes on the RadCity (+$200).

Planet Bike Cascadia Fenders: $55 https://www.amazon.com/Planet-Bike-Cascadia-bike-fenders/dp/B0041X603S/
Superbright for day & night riding 400 lumen rechargeable front & tail lights: $19 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FZ5H124/

The juiced css2 is sold as a class 2 with a class 2 sticker... It can be changed to class 3
There isn't a provision in the law for a hybrid class 2/3 bike. A class 3 bike is a pedelec, no throttle, assist to 28 mph. Class 2 is a bike with throttle and assists to 20 mph. All bikes require a permanent label affixed by the manufacturer. The law states "permanent", not class configurable by the end user.

I'm not the ebike police, and I'm not a fan of the class law, but the class discussion in this thread would be very confusing to a new ebike shopper. The Pace 500 is a legal class 3. The CCS2, as offered, does not fit in any class.

Agree with a lot of good things you posted on the Pace 500. However regarding the fork, Aventon does not recommend a suspension. First, the fork and headset are swept back fairly far to give the cruiser style effect that helps with pedal forward design and complements it well. With a suspension, that is a poor position, and it would likely become unstable sort of like a 'chopper bike.' Second there is not a suspension fork made with the nutted axle, correct travel that would be needed, and appropriate drop outs.

So suspension seat post is the way to go, and besides with those thicker, wider tires the ride is pretty good already. If you wanted, one could add the Redshift Stopshock suspension stem to help soften things further.

Btw, the Pace 350 is zippy too, and the motor is incredibly quiet, and the slight noise there is, amounts to a rather cool and even pleasant sounding whirr. Amazing ebikes both, for their respective price points.

I believe the Pace is a Class 2, as it has a throttle, and some samples happen to test faster than 20 mph, Not my fault (to the ranger with the radar gun). Maybe speedometer error or underinflated tires or we wuz going downhill.

I thought the 350 was class 2 and 500 a 3? I wish these sellers would work to change the law as apposed to ignoring it. I guess that's where we are these days.
