We just received our two new Rad mini step-throughs. Assembled last night and tried to remove the battery to charge it. We followed the instructions, using the key in the unlock position. It feels like it’s disengaging the slide bolt, but we can’t get the darn thing off! In struggling to get it off we discovered it came charged, but some day I’ll need to remove it. Haven’t assembled the second bike yet, so not sure if this is user error of a locking mechanism issue?

Possible the dead bolt is hanging up at its tip. Try cranking the key all the way counter-clockwise while lifting the battery. Go ahead and check the battery on the other bike, and you will see how it all works. If that one is hung up too, I'd probably send them both back. What's that saying? If the product doesn't work then neither does the seller.
I had my own problems on mine. One was in order to work the key I had to push down on the battery. The fix was to file out the slot where the dead bolt slips into, and haven't had a problem since. Most of the problems on these things are small and easily fixed. Good luck...
