Quick Neo SL Impressions

I just got a Quick SL and wanted to share first impressions. I was previously riding Giant OCR carbon road bike and Giant Aluminum Mnt Bike. Road bike was great on road but not for trails with 23C tires. Mountain bike had low gearing and good on hills, but starting to be a heavy slog for me to get 33lbs up the steep grades. I'd been looking at the Orbea Gain F30 for a while at LBS - but saw a good sale on the Cannondale and went for it.

Bike is about 35lbs - similar to my mnt bike. Weight is great for an e-bike (I had previous ridden a Rad City rental - which has more power and can drive on the throttle - but that is really not biking and it is heavy to manoeuvre) - 38c tires are good for road and trail - but no suspension fork limits the serious downhill stuff. That is a good trade-off though.

Bike is light enough to pedal without assist - there is no drag from motor - gearing is OK for relatively flat rides and max speed while peddling is about 25MPH (250rpm on crank). Min assist level is great on the flat - like riding with tail wind - mid assist is good for most hills, and max assist gets me up the steepest stuff - while you still have to work - you get up much faster. Range is pretty much as rated - in mixed flat/road/trail/hill ride I went 18 miles on about 50% of the charge.

Saddle is comfortable, Schwable tires are great. I added tail light (it has one already), front light, pedals with clips, bottle cage, saddle bag, over the stem phone holder. Ebikemotion app has frozen on me a couple of times - and bluetooth connection could be better - but overall not bad and you can use your phone instead of bike computer.

Overall great bike for those of us slighter older riders that could use a push up the hills to make rides more fun. You will still get a workout without killing yourself - and can go further/faster.

Brand new owner here as well - rode it home from dealer yesterday! Was previously riding a Kona Dew, so this is a big upgrade both in terms of the bike itself and the electric capability. Will be using primarily for urban transportation and weekend trips outside the city which were out of reach previously without some assistance. Also a slightly older rider.

First impressions: quality feel and finish. Light, nimble and very rideable with 100% muscle power. With one simple press of the button move into Level 1 green mode which takes the edge off but still lets you do most of the work, albeit at a higher speed for same effort. Like always having a strong tailwind. I find Level 2 and 3 to be too much assistance for basic street riding, but I am sure I will appreciate when I get into hills, or am returning after a long day out.

Still trying to work out the iPhone connections through app(s). So far, trying to do it through the Cannondale app, with some challenges. Have registered in the garage, but not yet successful in getting it to connect to hub. Maybe I will try the Ebikemotion app as suggested above. Does it make sense to set up both?

Overall very happy so far and excited to try on extended trips.

Are you happy with your bike still, any problems so far, how many miles have you put on.

Was finally able to see a Quick Neo SL in person at a local REI.

Gah... where was this bike before I spent my money?

It's so light, lighter than my regular MTB and now I'm sad that I bought another hybrid non ebike in my rush to get back on the road (crashed my Espin a while ago).

I would have bought it right then and there if not for the look I got from my better half. It was a Medium which I thought would be too small for me but I always felt my L bikes were just a little close to my down unders and this confirmed it.

Does anyone have $2400 to loan me? :)
